Dear Lovely Readers,
I am very excited to announce that I will be guest teaching in a two-month long, beautiful, brightly woven course offered by Hanna Leigh of Weaving Remembrance, all about the ancient feminine wisdom, songs and stories of spun thread and woven cloth— a theme many of you will know is very close to my heart! We will be announcing the title, dates and full course details soon.
Meanwhile, next Wednesday, February 19th we are offering a free live call to introduce the spirit of this new course to all of you— called AWAKEN THE WEAVER. You will get to meet all four teachers (I’m so honored to be braiding threads with these radiant women), do a bit of cloth magic, and maybe even sing….
In Hanna’s beautiful words:
“Whether or not you’ve ever woven a cloth or made a basket – We are all Weavers.
We take what is separate and bring it together to create beauty, gathering the threads of our inner landscapes to craft the fabric of our lives.
This gathering is designed to awaken your path as a Weaver — both literally and metaphorically.
Together, we will honor the weavers in our lineages, calling on their wisdom to guide us forward during these changing times.
Through personal stories of transformation, songs, and a special cloth blessing, we will explore how the sacred crafts of spinning and weaving offer a way to slow down and bring healing to our fast-paced, modern lives.
Whether you are already weaving or feel drawn to these ancient practices, we invite you to join this circle of inspiration, magic, and empowerment.
We will share in stories, teachings, and old lore to deepen our connection to the art of cloth-making and reawaken the power of these ancestral crafts in our hearts and hands.
We invite you to this ritual gathering to honor the weavers in your lineages and to rediscover the magic of these ways.”
Follow along here to register for the live call.
(And yes, recordings will be sent out after!)
With love,
Sylvia
This is wonderful. I was just thinking about wanting to learn more about weaving and natural dyes ( I am an herbalist) and this shows up….I believe this was meant to be. 💖
I’m so excited for this online offering and for the upcoming course! And what an incredible gathering of teachers! I began weaving this winter on a beautiful little handmade Oak frame loom I received from Rosemary along with her lovely teachings. It has been such an embodied, intuitive practice that feels both deeply in-my-bones ancestrally familiar and also expansively explorative with the different weavings I have been making so far. I hope to join this course, spinning and weaving my threads along with everyone and delving into all the myths, stories, songs and ancient wisdom. 🕸️🕯️♥️
