Angela Sainiās work The Patriarchs came to mind, along with Tyson Yunkaportaās latest book Right Story, Wrong Story, about healing relations with each other and the land whilst remaining grounded in LORE, and some of the yarns he has with female elders.
My own inquiry into ancestry and the motherline has me in Europe (though born in Australia), wandering around rocks and contemplating the stories that linger on in the landscapes.
