I love this history so much! My whole body trembles re-reading it. I imagine if Rhea and her mother (and us all) stayed with the mountain people and how the world would be, how life could be and all we've lost ... beyond the horrors of war, of all loss, how much we lost as humankind when War and City rose to reign ...

oh my days, absolutely transporting. I love this so much. Deeply immersed into the story and found myself living it through the characters. It helps that I resonate with those wild ones, creatures of the land.. the ancient ones. Thank you for this treasure.

I absolutely loved _Our Lady of the Dark Country_! I, too, got to live in Southern Italy for a short while and Rhea Silvia feels real because I have been there, smelled the scents of Rome and walked among the ruins of a ruinous city. I love how you tell the story of the forgotten mother and of the river who has lived through all the ages. After all the wars and the waste, those are the survivors...
